Chevron Opens Third Hydrogen Station in California

California has recently expanded its network of retail hydrogen stations with the soft opening of Chevron's third hydrogen refueling station, located in Carson. This milestone reflects growing momentum in expanding California's hydrogen fueling infrastructure to support the deployment of fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs) across the state's diverse regions.

The Chevron Carson station, located at 111 E Victoria Street, Carson, California 90746, has three H70 positions and is supplied with Cavendish Hydrogen equipment. This station marks the company’s continued investment in hydrogen mobility, following successful openings in Moreno Valley and Vacaville.

With this opening, California now operates 52 open retail hydrogen stations, representing significant progress toward the state's goal of supporting widespread FCEV adoption and zero-emission transportation.

The Carson location serves the Los Angeles metropolitan area, a key region for fuel cell vehicle adoption and fleet operations.

The station will start operations on February 23, 2026, and will operate on a restricted schedule for 14 days before transitioning to full 24/7 unattended service. Fueling will be available daily from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. (12 hours only).

  • February 23–27th: Cavendish technician onsite 6:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
  • March 2–8th: Cavendish technician onsite 6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
  • Both weekend operations continue with remote monitoring and on-call support.

Beginning Monday, March 9, the station will transition to 24/7 unattended operations.

Drivers can locate and monitor the Carson station’s status in real time through H2FCP's Station Operations Status System (SOSS).
