The California Hydrogen Coalition (CHC) is co-sponsoring Senate Bill 1424 (Archuleta), legislation that would allow zero-emission vehicle fueling and charging infrastructure to qualify for the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration's partial sales and use tax exemption currently available to manufacturing and power generation equipment.

The bill is scheduled to be heard in the Senate Revenue and Tax Committee on May 6, 2026.

CHC Executive Director Teresa Cooke is circulating a sign-on letter in support of the bill.

"By taking advantage of existing advanced manufacturing tax credits to draw down infrastructure equipment costs, this bill will help offset the devastating loss of federal support for clean transportation,” Cooke said.

Organizations interested in signing on are asked to submit a logo, the official organization name, and the signatory's name and title to Teresa Cooke (teresa@calobby.com) by Tuesday, April 28.
