Come join a dynamic and passionate team of professionals dedicated to finding solutions for reducing emissions from a variety of mobile sources. The Mobile Source Control Division (MSCD) develops and implements statewide strategies to reduce mobile source emissions that harm public health and ecological resources. Our work prioritizes protecting overburdened communities and supports California’s economy by advancing effective, science based programs that cut smog forming pollutants, toxic air contaminants, and greenhouse gas emissions.
We are seeking a strong leader to guide large teams in developing and implementing incentive programs that reduce emissions across key sectors and deliver clean air for all Californians, especially those in overburdened communities.
Under the general direction of the Division Chief of the Mobile Source Control Division (MSCD), the Assistant Division Chief helps lead MSCD’s management team. This role oversees the development and implementation of financial incentive programs, coordination with other divisions to advance the California Air Resources Board’s objectives, and the division’s internally and externally equity-focused initiatives.
Responsibilities include advising the Division Chief, Executive Office, and Chair’s Office on program and air quality/climate planning issues; shaping strategies for emissions-reduction policies; engaging with industry and stakeholders to advance regulatory and incentive approaches; coordinating with other divisions and agencies; supporting budget and resource planning; and representing the division before federal, state, and local agencies, non-governmental organizations, and the public.
