NYSERDA issued Request for Information (RFI 6169) to gather stakeholder input that will help shape a future competitive Program Opportunity Notice (PON) for pilot, demonstration, and commercial development projects related to the production and application of alternative fuels such as renewable diesel, sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), renewable natural gas (RNG), and clean methanol, among others.
We invite technology developers, project developers, investors, feedstock suppliers, offtake partners and other stakeholders to contribute insights.
Key areas for input are:
- Current project pipeline and commercialization stages of alternative fuel projects being pursued in New York State.
- Barriers to developing and applying for funding for pilot and demonstration-scale projects including milestone structure, and site, feedstock, offtake and infrastructure readiness.
- Challenges preventing advancement of first-of-a-kind commercial fuel facilities, project financing, or other barriers, and the type of support that would effectively unlock commercial deployment.
Responses submitted by June 18th, 2026, will be considered by NYSERDA to develop the 2026 competitive solicitation. Responses submitted after will be considered for future RFPs. Responses must be submitted through NYSERDA’s Portal using the required template.
