Port of Long Beach - Hydrogen Fuel Grant Program Information

The Hydrogen Fuel Grant Program provides a hydrogen fueling rebate for fuel cell trucks that operate at the San Pedro Bay ports complex.

PROGRAM ENROLLMENT

To be eligible, truck owners or operators or company (i.e., fleet) owner must be registered in the Ports Drayage Truck Registry (PDTR) and enroll in the Program. Only after the Port has approved enrollment in the program will fuel purchases be eligible for rebate.

Any fuel purchases made prior to enrollment approval are not eligible for a rebate.

INVOICE SUBMITTAL

Enrolled participants can receive a monthly rebate grant equivalent to the incremental cost between the actual market price of hydrogen fuel per kilogram (kg) and $7.50 per kg purchased for fuel cell trucks. The maximum fuel price subsidy is $22.50 per kg. Participants must maintain registration of their truck(s) in the PDTR and are required to perform a total of 50 trips a year, per participating truck, with at least half at the Port of Long Beach.
