Join us for a co-hosted breakfast panel discussion with Ammonia Energy Association (AEA), Clean Hydrogen Buyers Alliance (CH2BA), Hydrogen Fuel Cell Partnership (H2FCP), and the Open Hydrogen Initiative (OHI): https://www.aien.org/forms/meeting/Microsite/US24March2026.

Since last year’s discussion at CERAWeek 2025, there have been significant advancements in contracting frameworks for low-carbon hydrogen—particularly as they relate to ammonia, the largest global end use of hydrogen.

Recent developments demonstrate increasing momentum toward market standardization. AIEN has developed a standard term sheet for low-carbon ammonia that is relevant for other hydrogen derivatives and is advancing a long-form contract template. In parallel, the North American Energy Standards Board (NAESB) has introduced a standard hydrogen contract for North American transactions that incorporates carbon intensity and is now developing an ammonia annex. The Open Hydrogen Initiative has expanded its carbon-intensity protocols for hydrogen to include ammonia, while the Ammonia Energy Association has launched a certification system for low-carbon ammonia.

Our expert panel will unpack these developments and share practical insights on how regional variations in hydrogen carbon intensity influence contract requirements, how contracting must evolve across the hydrogen and ammonia value chain, and how standardized contract templates can accelerate market formation and the global scale-up of low-carbon hydrogen.

Breakfast will be provided. Registration is $15 for members, $30 for non-members, and $10 for students.
