General Summary: This position is a specialized class in the Coordinator series, specifically focusing on hydrogen projects and clean energy initiatives. Desired experience of advanced level or prior experience in clean energy or hydrogen project management. Appointees to this class must demonstrate full knowledge of hydrogen technologies, clean energy programs, and requirements for sustainable development. Coordinator II works under limited supervision and is expected to perform complex analytical work related to hydrogen and clean energy, displaying a greater complexity of assignments and a higher level of independence compared to lower levels.
Typical Functions:
Plans, organizes, directs, coordinates, and evaluates the activities of assigned hydrogen and clean energy projects; ensures alignment with sustainable energy goals.
Assesses program needs in the field of hydrogen technologies and clean energy; develops effective programs, strategies, and procedures within these areas; provides instruction materials to assist in achieving program goals.
Prepares and submits budget requests related to hydrogen projects and clean energy initiatives; estimates future needs in terms of personnel, equipment, and space; monitors expenditures; may negotiate contracts with subcontractors specializing in hydrogen technologies.
Leads contract procurement for hydrogen and clean energy projects including developing requests for proposals, reviewing proposals, recommending funding allocations, and negotiating contracts.
Makes oral and written presentations to funding agencies, elected officials, private and public organizations in the field of hydrogen and clean energy; conducts market analyses and research related to hydrogen technologies.
Develops public participation strategies, working relationships with community groups, agencies, and stakeholders in the field of hydrogen and clean energy.
Conducts needs assessments, research, and analyzes statistical data specific to hydrogen projects and clean energy; makes recommendations on administrative and operational problems, policies, and procedures.
Assists in the recruitment and selection of interns and volunteers for hydrogen projects and clean energy initiatives and operational problems, policies and procedures.
