Research leader Sverre Alvik of DNV GL says the large sale of electric car in Norway has helped to push down the price of batteries and electric cars worldwide. This has led to higher sales in other countries than it would have been without the Norwegian effort.
“When it comes to mobility, zero-emission technologies will play a key role, including battery and fuel cell electric vehicles. Whether its passenger cars, buses or trucks or other forms of transportation, these complementary technologies are necessary to reach the green future we envision.”

In its first report, titled Green Hydrogen Production: Landscape, Projects and Costs, Wood Mackenzie Power & Renewables counted 3.2 gigawatts of planned electrolyzer capacity, a twelvefold increase over the cumulative installed capacity at the time. As of March 2020, that pipeline had increased to 8.2 gigawatts, or 31 times the cumulative installed capacity today.
