CHBC Webinar: Long-Duration Energy Storage: Key to Achieving SB100

TUESDAY, OCTOBER 20 FROM 11:00AM- 12:00PM PDT. The CHBC invites you to an October 20 webinar at 11:00 AM PT on meeting the goals of the landmark SB 100 bill, and presenting the findings from a recent Cal-Tech study on long-duration storage. In addition, NREL will discuss long-duration energy storage for very high renewable share power systems and UCI will discuss the results of their storage modeling of the RESOLVE Model used by California agencies, and how hydrogen fits in that planning.

The Western Case For Green Hydrogen

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 15 FROM 10:00AM- 11:00AM PDT. Hydrogen has emerged as an attractive solution to the decarbonization challenge across the West. As a versatile energy resource with characteristics similar to natural gas, hydrogen has the potential to support decarbonization across a range of end uses, particularly as long-duration energy storage in the electricity sector. To achieve ambitious near-complete economy and electricity sector decarbonization targets, hydrogen must build on existing momentum and continue to realize anticipated cost reductions.

How Renewable Gases Can Help Decentralize the Grid: Fuel Cells and Microgrids

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 28 AT 10:00 a.m. PDT . Recent events in California demonstrate the fragility of a centralized electrical grid ill-prepared for the electrical demands of a greenhouse gas ravaged climate. Old paradigms of energy management must be discarded and reimagined, with low-and-no emission technologies that harness these low carbon fuels being central to rethinking the grid.

How can California’s Advanced Clean Truck Regulation mandate be met on time? The Role of Hydrogen Fuel Cell Technology

MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 21 AT 10:00AM PT. Ricardo is hosting a webinar with California Air Resources Board (CARB) and California Hydrogen Business Council (CHBC) on Sept 21 to discuss the California Advanced Clean Truck Regulation, its impact on clean truck industry and funding opportunities availability. This is an informative precursor webinar to CARB's workshop on the next day Sept 22 regarding the regulation reporting requirements. Hope you can join.

Commissioner Workshop on Approaches to Assessing Funding Program Benefits - Rescheduled

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 25 FROM 1:00PM - 5:00PM PT. The California Energy Commission (CEC) will conduct a workshop to gather information on the assessment of funding programs for clean transportation, primarily focusing on zero emission vehicles (ZEVs). This was originally scheduled as the afternoon session of the workshop held on August 19, 2020. The session was cancelled in response to unprecedented stress to the state’s electricity grid due to a heat wave. The workshop is part of the CEC’s 2020 Integrated Energy Policy Report Update (2020 IEPR Update) proceeding.

Hydrogen Energy Future: Opportunities & Challenges

MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 7 AT 5:30AM PT. It is a one-day meeting where we are planning to bring together leading experts from industry, academic institutions, government agencies, societies, and the through this online conference to exchange and share/discuss their experiences and research results about emerging opportunities and developments in Hydrogen Sector.

Speakers:

Mark Smith - One Scientific, Inc., Simpsonville, SC

Steve Jones - BayoTech onsite Hydrogen, Milford, CT

Chile - The Hidden Champion is Awakening

WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 2 FROM 7:00AM- 8:00AM PST. In 2018 the German World Energy Council published their PtX International Roadmap categorizing Chile as the "Hidden Champion", due to the unexplored renewable potential and mature political framework.

Two years later, the Chilean Hydrogen Ecosystem might be experiencing the inflection point. This is an executive overview from a public and private point of view of the last and ongoing hydrogen initiatives of the country leading the development in South America.

The real story of hydrogen compression

WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 2 FROM 1:00AM - 2:00AM PST. Hydrogen shall serve as the backbone for the successful defossilization of our economies. For its transportation, storage and distribution compression is the key. As the lightest element hydrogen has special requirements for efficient compression solutions.

This webinar shall provide an overview of current compression technologies and evaluate their suitability for the various applications in the upcoming H2 economy. Typical examples of successful installations of different sizes will be shown.
